Tilera Releases Its New Multicore Development Environment: the Most Advanced and Integrated Multicore Tools

Adds Hardware Debugging, Profiling Tools and C++ Full Language Support, Further Simplifying Multicore Programming

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - April 29, 2008) - INTEROP -- Tilera Corporation, developer of the breakthrough TILE™ family of high-performance processors for the embedded market, today announced its new release of the Multicore Development Environment™ (MDE). The MDE is an integrated set of tools that brings simplicity to multicore programming and helps programmers harness the full potential of their processors by offering full support for C/C++, standard programming paradigms, and the most advanced multicore debugging and optimization tools.

The new MDE release includes full C++ language support based on the Edison Design Group (EDG) compiler front end and SGI's Pro64 compiler, one of the best optimizing compilers in the industry. The release also provides extensive enhancements for hardware debugging and profiling, including visibility into cores, I/O and memory, for a full view of the application at any point in time. The new debugging features are essential for any multicore developer to be able to debug and optimize a parallel application.

"Over the years, customers in the embedded communications market have invested many engineering years and millions of dollars into their software. Tilera's MDE allows customers to use their existing code, leveraging their substantial investment, to get the high performance delivered by the TILE family of processors," said Richard Schooler, V.P. of Software Engineering, Tilera Corporation.

Tilera has focused on solving the hardware and software problems of multicore processors since the inception of the company in 2004. Tilera's MDE was first released to customers in early 2006 and major features have been added to it since then. With both the MDE and TILE processor family, Tilera is the first multicore company to offer both programmability and high performance for the embedded market.

Tilera's Multicore Development Environment programming suite is currently available from Tilera to all of its TILE™ processor customers. Tilera will be demonstrating the MDE features at booth 2361 at the 2008 Interop Las Vegas show, April 29 - May 1 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
