Top Brand Strategist Joins AlixPartners

Brandimage CEO Jim Barrett Joins the Firm to Specialize in Growth and Branding

SOUTHFIELD, MI--(Marketwire - January 11, 2010) - AlixPartners, the global business advisory firm, announced that well-known brand strategist Jim Barrett joined the firm as a managing director in its Enterprise Improvement practice. He will be based in Chicago.

Before joining AlixPartners, Barrett served as the CEO of Brandimage, one of the largest independent branding and design firms in the world, with offices throughout the US, Europe, and Asia. Its list of marquee clients includes consumer goods companies Procter & Gamble Co., Campbell Soup Co., Crayola LLC, Black & Decker Corp., Toto Products LLC, Kellogg Co., and Unilever PLC; major retail brands Banana Republic, Kroger, Payless, and United Fashion Company; and other well-known names such as Air France, AOL, and Telefonica. Barrett took Brandimage from two Midwest US offices and, through acquisitions and organic growth, expanded the firm from Chicago and Cincinnati to hub offices in New York, Paris, Brussels, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Seoul.

Before Brandimage, Barrett spent more than 20 years in broad-based management consulting at Ernst & Young LLP, working from offices in Cincinnati, Chicago, and Geneva. His career at Ernst & Young included serving as the global leader of the consumer products and retail industry group, the director of the global outsourcing practice and director of sales and marketing for the Americas. His clients included companies such as Proctor & Gamble Co., Kellogg Co., and Kraft Foods Inc.
