Top Scientist to be in Canada Regarding CERN's LHC, Big Questions and More

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 1, 2007) -

Nima Arkani-Hamed, a noted particle theorist and Professor of Physics at Harvard University, will be in Canada on Wednesday, February 7th to provide his insights. He investigates a number of mysteries and interactions in nature - puzzles that are likely to have experimental consequences in the next few years via particle accelerators, like the LHC, as well as cosmological observations.

About the Speaker:

Nima Arkani-Hamed is a leading particle physicist and applied string theorist. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Joint Honours degree in Mathematics and Physics, and went to the University of California, Berkley for his graduate studies. He went on to do his post-doctoral studies at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC). He officially joined Harvard's faculty in the fall of 2002. Professor Arkani-Hamed speaks regularly on the topics of space, time and dimensions, and the current state of theoretical physics. In 2005, he was the recipient of Harvard's 'Phi Beta Kappa' award for teaching excellence.
