Toronto Couple in Top 10 for Ultimate Job: Honeymoon Testing

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 23, 2010) - A Toronto couple has become one of 10 finalists to land what might be the ultimate travel job: Honeymoon Tester.

Following the success of the "Ultimate Job in the World" contest last year in Australia, Irish travel agency RunawayBrideAndGroom.com launched the latest in a spate of dream job competitions: six months traipsing the globe, being paid to test out the world's most romantic wedding and honeymoon locations.

Newlyweds Brendan Powell, a veteran travel tour guide and freelance travel writer/photographer, and Melanie Piché, a Toronto Realtor, beat out 30,000 video entries this week to make the final shortlist of 10. Finalists were informed by videoconference this past Thursday and now travel to Ireland for three days of interviews and challenges starting May 7th. Ultimate winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Dublin May 9th.

Proposed locations for the gruelling assignment include luxury resorts in Zanzibar, Kenya, Mauritius, the Seychelles, the Maldives, Thailand, Jordan, Hawaii and naturally, Ireland.

The young company boasts that the viral campaign has drawn millions of euro in publicity and attracted over 10 million hits to their site www.RunawayBrideAndGroom.com.
