Toronto Lawyers Ready to Rock at AIDSbeat!

Tonight's rock 'n' roll bash to attract 1,200; raise much-needed HIV/AIDS research funds

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 16, 2009) - On the lookout for the hottest charity bash of the season? Join 1,200 members of the Toronto legal community tonight for AIDSbeat, an all-out battle of the bands that raises over $200,000 for the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR) every year!

Featuring briefcase-toting lawyers by day and guitar-slinging rock gods at night, four bands will rock the crowd in a battle for the coveted Lexpert Cup. The bands will need to impress the AIDSbeat panel of celebrity judges, including the stunning Mariana Valente, Miss Universe® Canada, esteemed National Post Legal Post Editor Jim Middlemiss and former Poison Tour Manager Rob Stevenson.

The party will kick-off at the Kool Haus at 8:00 p.m. with the attention-grabbing AIDSbeat dancers and sexy painted body models. An electrifying performance by the Toronto Roller Derby Girls will top off an action-packed night of hot and heavy metal.

Tonight's event will put the total raised in AIDSbeat's history to over $1.8 million. The money raised from AIDSbeat goes directly towards funding Canadian research through CANFAR, in the ultimate hope of ending HIV/AIDS everywhere.
