Transmode Incorporates JDSU Tunable XFP Transceiver Into TM-Series and TS-Series WDM Platforms

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - January 19, 2010) - JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU) (TSX: JDU) today announced that Transmode has incorporated JDSU tunable XFP transceiver technology into both its TM-Series and TS-Series WDM platforms.

The JDSU tunable XFP transceiver is a dramatically smaller, lower power and pluggable solution. It acts as a key interface to convert network data streams between the electrical domain and the 10G optical domain, allowing traffic to enter and exit dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) networks. Network equipment manufacturers (NEMs) integrate this technology into their systems to help manage increased bandwidth within optical networks in a flexible and cost effective way.

Transmode offers a wide range of optical networking products based on Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology as well as a complete network management suite. Transmode's widely deployed TM-Series and TS-Series WDM platforms support all optical networking applications from the metro edge to regional and national networks in an economical platform which includes full ROADM switching and integrated Layer 2 Ethernet aggregation.
