Tribute Minerals Inc. Exploration Update

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 10, 2007) - Tribute Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:TBM) is pleased to announce the commencement of the 2007 Fall drill program and to provide an update on the exploration of its Confederation Lake Belt, Garnet Lake Property located in Northwestern Ontario. Drill holes GL-2007-54, 55 and 56 have been completed and assays have been received for holes GL-2007-51 and 54.

Tribute has completed its diamond drilling contract with Major Drilling Inc. and has contracted two drills with Cyr Drilling International Ltd. to begin drilling immediately. One drill will be used to continue testing the western extension of the Arrow Zone starting with Hole GL-2007-57. The second drill will initially be for definition drilling in the centre of the Arrow zone for which the core will be utilized for metallurgical bench testing. This drill will also be used for completing a number of shallow holes to further test the extension of the Arrow Zone towards the surface based upon the results from Hole GL-2007-51, and will eventually be moved southwest to test exploration targets on the adjacent Copperlode Property.

Assays for Hole GL-2007-51 which tested the Arrow Zone up-plunge from the eastern end of the Arrow Zone intersected multiple sections of stringer and semi-massive iron and base metal sulphides over 25 metres which included results from 238.0 -239.5 metres down-hole (1.4 metres true width) of 4.29% Zn, 0.12% Cu, 8.10 g/t Ag, 0.12 g/t Au and 2.93 g/t In, and from 248.9 -250.7 metres down-hole (1.7 metres true width) of 6.14% Zn, 0.32% Cu, 31.1 g/t Ag, 0.06 g/t Au and 9.88 g/t In. The results extend the Arrow Zone a further 100 metres up plunge to a vertical depth of 170 metres and shows the zone remains open to the east and towards the surface.

Drill-hole GL-2007-54 that tested the Arrow Zone 100 metres west of its previous extent intersected 116 metres of highly altered volcanic rocks. Disseminated and stringer iron and base metal sulphides were observed in the core over a down-hole width of 28 metres. Best grades encountered include separate intersections of 1.13 % Zn, 0.15% Cu, 0.14 g/t Au, 2.4 g/t Ag and 0.8 g/t In over 6 metres and 1.14% Zn, 0.10% Cu, 0.23g/t Au, 7.0 g/t Ag and 12.4 g/t In over 3 metres and 1.38% Zn, 0.1% Cu, 0.11 g/t Au, 5.9 g/t Ag and 4.2 g/t In over 1 metre. The results are considered to be very encouraging because of the wide envelope of strong alteration associated with the base metal mineralization. Similar results are expected for Hole GL-2007-55 that was drilled 75 metres down-dip from GL-2007-54.

Gl-2007-56 was drilled north of the centre of the Arrow Zone. Its location was partly chosen to assess the geotechnical and geochemical parameters of the proposed ramp on the property as part of Tribute's permitting requirements with respect to its application to conduct advanced exploration on the property (See Press Release dated April 30, 2007). The next hole GL-2007-57 will be drilled 100 metres west of GL-2007-54 to continue to test IP high chargeability and low resistivity targets down plunge along the trend of the Arrow Zone.

Core samples were split in half using a diamond saw and sealed in secure packages, shipped by bonded carrier from Ear Falls to ALS Chemex in Thunder Bay for preparation, and to ALS Chemex in North Vancouver for AU-AA62 assay (gold by fire assay with AA finish) and ME-MS61 47 element analysis (4 acid dissolution and ICP-MS). High analyses (greater than 10,000 ppm, 1%) for copper, zinc and (greater than 100 ppm) silver were submitted for ore grade AA62 analysis (4 acid dissolution with AA finish). A duplicate unknown to the laboratory is submitted per batch of ten samples. A polymetallic standard, unknown to the laboratories, is included with each submission of samples. ALS Chemex fulfilled standard QA/QC protocols. The Confederation Lake exploration program is under the direction of Trevor Boyd, P.Geo, Vice President Exploration, Tribute, and a qualified person (QP) for the purposes of NI 43-101.

The Company currently has 72,243,717 common shares issued and outstanding.
