The Army has recalled 44,000 Advanced Combat Helmets made by Hebron, Ohio based manufacturer ArmorSource, LLC (formerly Rabinex, LLC). Of the total number of helmets recalled, 20,000 were issued to Army soldiers, while 24,000 were issued to the Air Force and U.S. Navy. According to sources familiar with the details of the recall, the helmets do not offer adequate ballistic protection and do not meet the military's rigorous quality standards.
