Turin Networks Appoints Bruce Miller as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Engineering

Industry Veteran to Lead Technology Innovation and Execution for Rapidly Growing Supplier of Metro Transport and Switching Solutions

PETALUMA, CA--(Marketwire - January 8, 2008) - Turin Networks, Inc., a global provider of metro transport and switching solutions for wireline, wireless, MSO and private networks, today announced the appointment of accomplished industry veteran Bruce Miller as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Engineering. In this role, Mr. Miller will be responsible for guiding the company's strategic technology direction as well as overall execution across all of Turin's product families.

Bruce brings nearly 30 years of technical and managerial experience in high technology companies to Turin Networks. Prior to joining Turin, Mr. Miller was recently the Chief Technical Officer/Vice President of Network Strategy within the North American Division of Alcatel's Optical Networks Group. In that position, he was responsible for setting the market focus of the organization, business development, mergers and acquisitions, strategy and technology development. Previously, Bruce was a founder of Astral Point Communications where he served as lead technologist and strategist until the company was acquired by Alcatel in 2002.

Among other significant achievements, Bruce holds 5 patents in telecommunications, with another 4 patents pending, and was a member of the IEEE 10/100 Mbps Ethernet standards committee. Bruce's diverse background includes technical and managerial positions in the development of fault tolerant computer systems, artificial intelligence, medical instrumentation and telecommunications equipment.

Bruce holds a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, in addition to masters degrees in both Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
