ULTRASLIDE® to Be Featured as Pop Challenge Event on NBC's "The Biggest Loser"

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - February 8, 2010) - ULTRASLIDE®, the lateral slide board produced by Northbrook, Illinois-based Varisport, Inc., will be featured as the Pop Challenge on the February 9 episode of NBC's hit program, "The Biggest Loser."

ULTRASLIDE has long been the choice of professional and college sports teams and top athletic trainers and conditioning coaches, but "The Biggest Loser" will expose the board to a new, much broader audience.

"Hopefully, the 'Biggest Loser' audience will see a product that offers a unique, yet very challenging and effective workout, whether the goal is training for an specific sport or event or weight loss," says Barry Slotnick, Varisport founder and president.

Previously offering boards in 8- and 10-foot lengths, the company is now launching a 7-foot home unit to coincide with the appearance on "The Biggest Loser." Like the institutional-grade 8- and 10-foot boards, the new 7-foot ULTRASLIDE will feature a solid base and hardwood bumpers and be entirely handmade in the USA, with most components also sourced locally.

Adding to the sustainable nature of all ULTRASLIDE boards are FSC-certified core base material, bumpers crafted from hardwood from a well-managed source in southern Illinois, and low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) glue and finishes.

"ULTRASLIDE is sustainable on many levels," says Slotnick. "Those who purchase any of our boards can know that not only are they getting a premium product, but also supporting American workers and companies as well as respecting the environment."

ULTRASLIDE® has been produced by Northbrook, Illinois-based Varisport, Inc., since 1993. It has become the premium slide board for training, conditioning, and rehabilitation, used by hundreds of professional and collegiate teams as well as training center, hospital, clinics, and other institutions worldwide. "The Biggest Loser" is one of the top-rated programs on television, pulling 11-14 million viewers weekly.
