USIS National Service Criminal History Check Meets Volunteer Screening Standards

TULSA, OK--(Marketwire - October 24, 2007) - USIS, a leader in employment screening, drug testing, and insurance services and the largest provider of security investigations to the U.S. government, has launched its National Service Criminal History Check, a background screening solution that meets volunteer screening standards recently established by the Corporation for National and Community Service, an independent federal agency that provides strategic support to volunteer organizations around the country. The USIS solution is offered by its commercial services business based in Tulsa, Okla.

In a new rule published in August, the Corporation for National and Community Service now requires a National Service Criminal History Check for all Senior Companions and Foster Grandparents, as well as all AmeriCorps State and National participants who have continuing access to children, people over 60 years of age, or individuals with disabilities. The rule takes effect later this year.

To help organizations comply with the new screening regulation, USIS is offering its National Service Criminal History Check for $15 per volunteer screened.

"We developed this special service to reinforce our commitment to help non-profit, community service, and healthcare organizations maintain compliance in light of changes in screening regulations," said Dean Johnson, USIS Director of Criminal Records Product Management. "This is especially important for organizations that use volunteers who interact with potentially vulnerable populations on a regular basis."
