UltimateBet's Brandon Cantu Continues to Shine Online and Off

Team UB Pro Conquers Two Big Online Poker Tournaments at UltimateBet

MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - November 3, 2009) - Online poker champion Brandon Cantu is continuing to prove why he deserves to be in the company of Phil Hellmuth and poker's best pros on Team UB. The poker star finished strong in a handful of major tournaments hosted by online poker room UltimateBet.

The UltimateBet pro poker player took the top spot in UltimateBet's signature $100k tournament on November 1st, securing $34,580 for winning the $500+30 Texas Hold'em online poker event. In August of this year, Brandon Cantu finished first in the same event for just shy of $37,000.

This was a big weekend for Cantu. On Saturday, he won the weekly heads-up tournament leaderboard match at UltimateBet. Each week, the weekly tournament leaderboard winner faces off against a Team UB pro for $1,000. If the Team UB pro wins -- something that's happened for three weeks straight -- the prize pool gets added to the following week's prize. Cantu's win means that this weekend's heads-up challenger will play for $4,000 on Saturday.

Brandon Cantu has collected more than $3 million in online and land-based tournament winnings.

In June, the UltimateBet pro conquered Event #48 at the World Series of Poker, a $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha 8 or Better event, besting a field of 762 players for $228,867. At the WSOP, Cantu has amassed ten top 10 finishes, made four final tables, and collected two bracelets.
