UltraCell® Inks Distribution Agreement With Tatung System Technologies, Inc. (TSTI)
UltraCell Expands Global Presence, Delivers the Power of Portable Fuel Cell Technology Across Asia
LIVERMORE, CA--(Marketwire - October 1, 2007) - UltraCell Corporation, the leading producer
of reformed methanol fuel cells (RMFCs) for mobile power applications,
today announced it has entered into a strategic distribution agreement with
Tatung System Technologies, Inc. (TSTI), a subsidiary of TATUNG Company, to
bring its fuel cell technology to Asia. The companies will also collaborate
under TSTI's fuel cell R&D program, leveraging their respective expertise
in fuel cell system technology.
"We are very excited to be working with UltraCell to bring its leading fuel
cell technology to the Asian marketplace," said Min-Hsien Lin, general
manager, Fuel Cell Research Division, TSTI. "Together we can respond to the
increased demand for more efficient and cost-effective alternative energy
sources across Asia."
The UltraCell XX25™ fuel cell delivers up to 25 watts of continuous
power and weighs just 1.24 kilograms, making it an ideal portable power
source for the computing, communications and sensing devices used in
critical mobile and remote operations such as military missions, emergency
and disaster response and remote surveillance. The UltraCell XX25 is
smaller, lighter, and more efficient than traditional electric generators,
and provides much longer runtime than batteries.
"As global interest in renewable energy and fuel cells in particular
continues to grow, it's an exciting time for UltraCell and for the fuel
cell industry," said James Kaschmitter, UltraCell CEO and president. "We're
thrilled to be working with the team at TSTI, a longtime technology
innovator and leader in Asia, and look forward to collaborating on future
development projects."
