Underground Vaults and Storage Receives SHARP Certification for Workplace Safety, Will Be Presented at Governor's Office

HUTCHINSON, KS--(Marketwire - April 7, 2010) -  Underground Vaults and Storage, Inc.'s (UV&S) Hutchinson facility and Corporate Offices were recently recognized for being in compliance with the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). UV&S will attend a proclamation signing at the office of Kansas Governor Mark Parkinson on April 14, 2010.

SHARP is a nationwide program initiated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and recognizes small employers who operate an exemplary safety and health management system. UV&S is one of only 147 SHARP-certified facilities in the state of Kansas.

"We're extremely proud to be recognized for the safety of our employees and work environment," said Lee Spence, President of UV&S. "It's a distinction that can only be achieved through a group effort, so every employee should feel proud to have done their part."

The initial SHARP certification lasts for two years, and can be regularly renewed after that by maintaining all eligibility requirements.

Underground Vaults and Storage, Inc. is a privately-held document storage, information and records management company established in 1959. UV&S operates three underground storage and three above-ground secure storage facilities. It is known best for the millions of items stored within its 650-foot deep salt mine in Kansas, including movie film storage, data tape storage and paper record storage.
