Unified Communications Presentation, SafariFusion Exhibit to Highlight Cedar Point's IMS 2.0 World Forum Presence

DERRY, NH--(Marketwire - April 19, 2010) -  Cedar Point Communications, a worldwide leader in integrated Voice over IP (VoIP) switching technologies for service providers, today announced a comprehensive presence at the IMS 2.0 World Forum, including a panel presentation by a leading company executive and an exhibit of the capabilities of the company's SafariFusion™ Application Platform.

Rafael Fonseca, vice president of systems engineering and technical marketing, and a key driver of Cedar Point's voice switching vision, will offer his expertise as part of a panel entitled "Unified Communications: IP Convergence -- Is IMS The Answer?" The panel, scheduled for April 27 at 15:15, will include Mila Milenkovic, head of B2B partnerships and business models development for Telekom Srbija, and Woo Yang Choi, IMS director for SK Telecom.

In the exhibit hall at the Barcelona, Spain event, Cedar Point will show how a versatile, next generation solution built around the company's SafariFusion Application Platform enables cable system operators and network service providers to harness the flexibility of IMS architectures for carrier-class residential and business communications services.

"The ability to quickly and seamlessly leverage converged services is among the most important issues on the roadmaps of telecommunications providers today," said Fonseca. "While our panel will be looking closely at a variety of solutions, we at Cedar Point believe that 'fused' IP-based services, enabled by SafariFusion, are the simplest and most cost-effective route to enabling a rich communications suite that can be used on different end points in the home."

A critical part of Cedar Point's next generation IMS solution, the SafariFusion Application Platform leverages industry standard Web 2.0 tools and applications for rapid deployment of multimedia communications services. SafariFusion also has been designed to enable an evolutionary strategy that combines seamless migration to PC 2.0/IMS architectures with investment protection for existing NCS and SIP endpoints.

Cedar Point has shipped more than six and a half million SAFARI C3 lines to customers in the Americas, the Caribbean and Europe. SAFARI C3 supports up to 250,000 lines of capacity in less than a cubic meter of space, incorporating all of the components that make up the voice switching infrastructure. It is being deployed for residential and business services by a diverse customer base that includes Cable System Operators, CLECs, Wireless Operators and Universities.
