Unimax Releases 2nd Nature(R) Version 6.9

Latest Release Supports Record Level Permissions and Avaya's Modular Messaging Subscriber Options

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - January 14, 2010) - Unimax Systems Corporation®, a leading provider of telecommunications configuration management software and unified voice administration, today announced the availability of 2nd Nature Version 6.9. The new version introduces support for Record Level Permissions across various PBX and voice mail systems. The new version also adds compatibility with Avaya's Modular Messaging Subscriber Options. Existing support for PBX and voice mail systems from Avaya, AVST, Cisco, and Nortel, as well as Microsoft Active Directory and other critical business systems has also been enhanced in the new version.

With 2nd Nature's support for Record Level Permissions, a business can restrict the level of access their telecommunications administrators have to specific phones, voice mailboxes, directories, etc. Administrator access can also be restricted to certain actions such as moves, adds, or changes and can include restrictions to specific departments, subsidiaries, or other sub-sets of employees. Additionally, Record Level Permissions allow organizations to partition their PBX and messaging system's data and functionality to incorporate provisioning and other critical administrative functions on a multi-tenant basis. The result is dramatically increased security and control.

2nd Nature 6.9 also introduces an advanced method for managing Subscriber Options in Avaya's Modular Messaging system. Subscriber Options apply sophisticated rules that enable calls and messages to find their intended recipient regardless of where they might be. The new version of 2nd Nature simplifies the inherent complexity of this find-me, call-me, notify-me functionality with global, unified views of subscriber settings, instant visibility to subscriber data, bulk modify capabilities, and much more.

"Adding support for Record Level Permissions and Subscriber Options to 2nd Nature represents a significant achievement," said Teresa Dixon, Unimax Director of Product Management. "Despite the obvious business benefit, user customizable features like Subscriber Options are often underutilized because many people find them difficult to manage. By simplifying this important functionality, adoption rates will increase resulting in dramatically improved communication throughout the organization," said Dixon. "Adding Record Level Permissions to 2nd Nature is in direct response to customer and market demands. Restricting administrator access to sub-sets of data and management functionality will help organizations realize important objectives around securing and controlling telecommunications data."

Other enhancements to 2nd Nature's multi-vendor PBX and voice messaging interoperability include adding support for Avaya Modular Messaging 5.2, Avaya Message Networking 5.2, and AVST CallXpress 8.0. The new version also enhances 2nd Nature's compatibility with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Unity, Cisco Unity Connection, Nortel CS1000, and others. Integration between 2nd Nature and Microsoft Active Directory has also been expanded in this version with a number of new productivity features.
