Unipac Shipping Selects GT Nexus to Power Global Logistics Data Hub

Logistics Management Company to Use Industry Portal for Collection and Standardization of Shipment Status Information Across All Ocean Carriers

ALAMEDA, CA--(Marketwire - November 13, 2007) - GT Nexus today announced that its industry trade and logistics portal will serve as the ocean shipment visibility data hub for Unipac Shipping, Inc. Ocean shipment status data will be captured from Unipac's partner carriers, standardized into a common format, and then fed directly into Unipac's internal visibility systems.

How GT Nexus data services works:

1) Data is collected through the GT Nexus network. The underlying infrastructure and partner connections are already in place, supporting thousands of existing customers. This allows new customers to get started quickly and cost effectively. All major ocean carriers and 3PLs are connected to GT Nexus, supporting multiple customers.

2) GT Nexus standardizes the data into a common format. As data files come in, they are mapped against a proprietary industry catalogue and then translated into a universal format. This catalogue has been built up over several years, based on the experience of thousands of customer rollouts and over a billion individual events.

3) Standardized data is fed into "consuming" applications. These applications can be the trade and logistics management solutions provided over the GT Nexus portal, or they can be customer systems. GT Nexus is currently integrated to all types of customer platforms, including ERP, TMS, Order Management and Proprietary/Custom systems.

All GT Nexus customers and their global partner networks are on a single on-demand platform. While each customer has its own secure partner community and capability footprint, the network and data intelligence infrastructure is shared by all. If an event message is unrecognized, one fix corrects that message type for every customer on the portal.

Unipac will no longer need to maintain multiple integrations to its network of ocean carriers -- they will maintain one connection to GT Nexus. Unipac will also be able to monitor data quality with a set of dashboards and tools that GT Nexus provides.
