Universal Detection Technology Enters Into Agreement With EMME Aimed at Testing Its Airborne Bacterial Spore Detection Technology in Hospitals for Detection of Airborne MRSA

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - October 31, 2007) - Universal Detection Technology ( (OTCBB: UDTT) (FRANKFURT: P08), a developer and provider of early-warning monitoring technologies to protect people from bioterrorism and radiological weapons, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with EMME Consulting. The MOU lays out the framework for UDT and EMME Consulting to jointly test their technologies at hospital and school environments for detection and decontamination of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA).

According to The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Five percent of the some 368,600 patients treated in U.S. hospitals for MRSA in 2005 died. Also According to a recent report by the Center of Disease Control, MRSA is responsible for more than 94,000 serious infections and nearly 19,000 deaths each year. Recent reports also indicate the spread of MRSA in schools throughout the country.
