LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - November 24, 2008) - Universal Detection Technology ( (OTCBB: UNDT) (FRANKFURT: PO8), a developer of early-warning monitoring technologies to protect people from bioterrorism and other infectious health threats and provider of counter-terrorism consulting and training services, announced today that through its deal with US Department of Commerce's Commercial Service, it is promoting Company's handheld assays, used for detection of up to five bioterrorism agents. UNDT is listed as a Featured US Exporter on Commercial Service's UAE website.

Bordering the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf, between Oman and Saudi Arabia, the UAE consists of seven emirates, the most popular ones of which are Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Home to some of the wealthiest sovereign funds in the world, the UAE is strategically positioned as a bridge between the West and the Eastern economies. Its rapid growth and modern lifestyle has made it a sour thumb in the eyes of fundamentalist Islamic movements around the world.

"We are pleased to expand our relationship with the US Commercial Service to make our detection equipment available on their local website in the UAE," said Mr. Jacques Tizabi, UNDT's Chairman and CEO.
