Uranium Power Corp. Appoints New President

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 12, 2007) - Uranium Power Corp. ("Uranium Power" "UPC") (TSX VENTURE:UPC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris M. Healey, P.Geo, as President of the company, effective immediately. Rahoul Sharan will assume the role of Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Healey is a licensed professional geologist in the State of Wyoming and has over 38 years of experience in the natural resources field. Over the past twenty-eight years he has developed broad experience in the uranium business. From 1978 to 1999 he worked for Cameco Corporation, the world's largest uranium producer. In his 21 years with Cameco he held a variety of geological positions in all areas from initial exploration project generation through to production, and was involved in the discovery of the world's two largest high grade deposits, Cigar Lake and McArthur River. In particular he has specialized in the areas of resource acquisition and evaluation, and exploration project management. From 1992 to 1997 he managed Cameco's U.S. operations and was responsible for the acquisition of several major uranium properties, hosting in excess of 50 million pounds of resources. He has worked extensively on uranium projects around the world, including projects located in Canada, USA, Paraguay, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Australia and Malawi.

Immediately prior to joining UPC as Vice President - Exploration in November 2006, he spent three years as Vice President - Exploration for U.S. Energy Corp. Mr. Healey is also a Director of Cue Capital Corp. He graduated from the University of Wales, Swansea, in 1968 with a B.Sc. degree in geology. From 1988 to 1989 he served as President of the Geological Society of CIM.
