Urbana Corporation Purchases Exchange Memberships & Shares

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 12, 2007) - Urbana Corporation ("Urbana") (TSX:URB) (TSX:URB.A) (TSX:URB.WT) is pleased to announce that it has entered into agreements to buy a seat on the Chicago Board Options Exchange ("CBOE"), a seat on the Kansas City Board of Trade ("KCBOT") and two board lots (formerly seats) on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. All three exchanges are private entities.

The total cost of the purchases is approximately CDN$2.9 million. The purchase of the KCBOT seat is subject to approval by the KCBOT's Board of Directors.

Urbana is an investment corporation that is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Urbana's current focus is buying seats and shares in private and public securities exchanges in North America and around the world.
