Utilities, Inc. Announces New Chief Operating Officer

NORTHBROOK, IL--(Marketwire - January 11, 2010) - Utilities, Inc., a national water and wastewater service corporation, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Hoy to Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Hoy fills the position vacated by Lisa Sparrow who was appointed to President of Utilities, Inc. in December 2009.

Mr. Hoy started with the Company in 2006 as Regional Vice President of Operations and served as Chief Regulatory Officer since July 2007. "John has proven himself as an asset to both operations and the company as a whole," said Lisa Sparrow, President. "He has a longstanding demonstrated commitment to process, strong financial performance and operational excellence. We look forward to his outstanding leadership taking the operations team forward."

Prior to joining Utilities, Inc., John spent 25 years in a variety of engineering, financial, investor relations and operational roles at We Energies, the largest utility in the state of Wisconsin. He is a Professional Engineer and holds a bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering and an MBA from Marquette University.
