VC Taskforce Now on Facebook, Launches Social Media Initiative

New Initiative Fosters Increased Interaction, Engagement With Members and Venture Capital Community

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - April 28, 2010) -  VC Taskforce announced it is now on Facebook and has just launched a Social Media initiative allowing its members to better interact, comment and share information. In addition to the Facebook page, the initiatives will include a VC Taskforce blog, a LinkedIn community and a presence on Twitter.

Through these initiatives, VC Taskforce will provide public platforms from which members of the venture capital community and its followers can obtain current and relevant industry information on trends, policies, news and innovations as well as VC Taskforce organization news. VC Taskforce will also provide commentary on issues of importance to the venture capital community.

"Social media is changing the way people interact with one another and with organizations, and the way they get their news," said June Riley, CEO of VC Taskforce. "These initiatives will allow us to not only relay information more frequently, but also to better engage and connect with our members and other interested parties in the venture capital community."

"We've always been a member-driven organization, and now we are using the latest tools to do this," noted Riley.

The VC Taskforce Facebook page is the "hub" for all social media activities, linking to the blog, Twitter and LinkedIn. It includes news about upcoming VC Taskforce events, speakers and resources; event photos; video interviews; and fans-only special promotions. The fan page on Facebook allows users to become fans and stay in touch with breaking news and special coverage within Facebook.

Fans will not be able to post on the "wall" directly, but can post comments in response to events, status updates, photos, and blog posts.

VC Taskforce will launch its blog in the next few weeks. The blog will be a source of industry "news you can use" as well as commentary and a destination for those who want to stay abreast of venture industry developments.

LinkedIn will be improved and will serve as a platform for the venture community to discuss and collaborate on key opportunities and issues. Twitter, to be launched shortly, will be VC Taskforce's "listening and communication engine."
