Ormes, 29 July 2008. Vergnet has reported revenue of EUR 7.8 million for the first half of 2008.

Wind-turbine division: 1 MW GEV HP commissioned

Business activity in the wind-turbine division in the first half came to EUR 4.2 million. Given the four-month lag in the GEV HP production schedule announced in April 2008, the level of business activity in this first half is not representative of the Group's expectations for the year as a whole. Most of the revenue for 2008 will be realized at the end of the year with the first GEV HP shipments.

Vergnet can announce that the first 1 MW GEV HP has been successfully assembled at the company's test site, located a few kilometres from company HQ, and the blades should begin turning in the next few days. The wind turbine has now entered the commissioning phase. The decision taken by the Group to remachine the nacelle frames in order to ensure the utmost safety during the joining phase was implemented as anticipated, and the production schedule will go ahead as normal. This new wind turbine, incorporating unique technology and offering peerless competitive advantages, has received a very positive initial reaction. 28 options have already been taken out in 2007 and the marketing phase will continue to gather momentum in 2008.

Water division: continued growth

The water division has reported revenue of EUR 3.6 million for the first six months of the year. The contracts signed at the start of the year will help to grow business in the second half of 2008. The business remains in a very positive position.Upcoming announcements:

14 October 2008: H1 2008 Results

27 February 2009: Full-Year 2008 Revenue

16 April 2009: Full-Year 2008 Results

About Vergnet SA

VERGNET SA was founded in 1988 by its current CEO, Marc Vergnet, a leading figure in sustainable development.

Today, VERGNET is the leading manufacturer in its two business areas: designing and manufacturing wind turbines for the FARWIND® market, and water supply equipment for Africa.

Relying on its unique patented technologies, the Group has installed nearly 600 FARWIND® wind turbines to date, and supplies water to over 40 million people all over the world.

The recent surge in the price of oil has spurred the expansion of VERGNET's FARWIND® wind-turbine market, which consists of vast areas (in over 130 countries, home to 1.5 billion people) where electricity is mainly produced from oil, and limited infrastructure and logistics make it impractical to install conventional wind turbines.

With nine sites covering much of the world (France, the Caribbean, the Pacific region, the Indian Ocean and Africa), and a staff of 200, the Vergnet Group had turnover of EUR 33.4 million and net earnings of EUR 0.4 million in 2007.

The Group is accelerating its growth with the development of a new generation of 1 MW wind turbines and an innovative range of water supply and treatment equipment.

The VERGNET Group has been listed on the Alternext market since 12 June 2007 (FR0004155240 - ALVER).
