VICORP Restaurants, Inc. Creates Unique Partnerships: Brings Award-Winning Recipes to Guests

Restaurant Partnerships Create a Powerful New Reason for Guest Trial and Sets Company Apart in the Restaurant Industry

DENVER, CO--(Marketwire - November 6, 2007) - VICORP Restaurants, Inc., owner of Village Inn and Bakers Square restaurants, has traveled the country in search of America's best recipes from legendary restaurants to bring guests award-winning recipes in their own hometown. Just in time for National French Toast Month this November, Village Inn and Bakers Square is offering a stuffed French toast recipe from the Maples Inn in Maine. Also arriving this month are a handful of hearty recipes that are made with authentic seasonings from the legendary Perini Ranch Steakhouse in Texas.

"At Village Inn and Bakers Square, we have a passion for great food," said Ken Keymer, CEO of VICORP Restaurants, Inc. "We are excited to expand our menu by doing something totally unique in the restaurant industry, bringing select entrees to our restaurants from legendary locations across America."

While other restaurants strive to bring the flavors of certain regions to their customers, Village Inn and Bakers Square are responding to Americans' ever-evolving palates by making upscale dishes more accessible on their menus.

The Maples Inn, an established bed and breakfast built in 1903 in Bar Harbor, Maine, is home to a legendary culinary delight, Wild Maine Blueberry Stuffed French Toast. The Maples Inn has been highlighted in Gourmet Magazine, National Geographic Traveler Magazine and Best Recipes from American Country Inns and Bed and Breakfasts (Maynard). For a limited time, guests won't have to travel to Maine to enjoy this scrumptious recipe. Beginning in November, Village Inn and Bakers Square will offer the Maples Inn Signature Blueberry Stuffed French Toast, and Village Inn also will feature Fresh Strawberry & Banana Stuffed and Apple Stuffed French Toast.

The Perini Ranch Steakhouse is home to some of the best chuck wagon style food around including the Ranch's famous steaks with a dry rub seasoning. For nearly 25 years, Tom Perini has been serving his classic Texas-style, cowboy-inspired fare for guests, celebrities and dignitaries alike. Perini has been featured on many national morning television news programs, and he has been invited six times to cook at New York's James Beard House (1995, 1997 and 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006), a highly coveted honor among those in the culinary arts. Perini Ranch Steakhouse also has been featured as an annual fixture at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Colo., an event sponsored by Food & Wine Magazine. For a limited time, Village Inn and Bakers Square restaurant guests can enjoy the same flavors Tom cooks at the Perini Ranch Steakhouse including the Perini Ranch Seasoned Sliced Sirloin Dinner and Perini Ranch Seasoned Sliced Sirloin Baguette Sandwich.

VICORP Restaurants plans to introduce additional legendary recipes and restaurants at its Village Inn and Bakers Square restaurants through 2008.

"We hope the association with unique high-quality, award-winning recipes will help create a powerful new reason for guests to try our food, and to set us apart as highly innovative in the restaurant industry," said Keymer.
