VVC Exploration Drilling Santa Cristina Gold Prospect in Mexico

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 23, 2009) - VVC EXPLORATION CORPORATION (TSX VENTURE:VVC)(FRANKFURT:V7S)(BERLIN:BBSE) ("VVC" or the "Company") announces the start of diamond drilling on the Santa Cristina Property (the "Property"), located in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountains, approximately 60 km to the south of Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua State, in northern Durango State, Mexico. VVC recently optioned the Property as was previously announced on June 4, 2009.

The drill rig which had been used on the Santa Valeria Property was moved unto the Property last week, following the issuance by the Mexican Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the required drilling permit. The drilling is being carried by Landdrill International Inc. and the exploration program is being managed by Invesmin San Miguel S de RL de CV under contract to VVC. The Company's QP, Mr. Peter Dimmell, who is also a director of the Company is currently in Mexico and will be carrying out a due diligence property visit this week with later follow-up visits.

Gold mineralization at Santa Cristina occurs on a 1 km long trend, associated with Tertiary age volcanic rocks and extensive silification and argillization. Due diligence sampling has given grab sample values ranging from 60 ppb (or 0.06 g/t) to 5.77 g/t Au with an average of 2.21 g/t Au from the hematized breccia. One sample taken by the QP from a hematized breccia in a pit approximately 50 metre west of the Maria Louisa showing returned 8.2 g/t Au and 2.3 g/t Ag while a sample from the Maria Louisa pit returned 0.241 g/t Au and 0.5 g/t Ag. Four, pin-sized, specks of visible gold were observed by the QP in a cut sample taken from the Maria Louisa locality. The sample has been sent for assay, with results pending. A composite grab sample of float of banded, epithermal style, quartz veining (derived from the bedrock immediately), away from the main mineralized trend, returned 5.0 g/t Ag with the gold value below the 5 ppb detectable limit.

The Property was worked by Gambusinos (artisanal miners) in the past, however it has never been evaluated by modern exploration techniques including diamond drilling. The initial program comprising geological mapping and prospecting which is ongoing, and a diamond drill program will test the mineralized zone along a strike length of over 700 metres.

"We are encouraged with the exploration results obtained to-date and feel confident that the current drilling will confirm the existence of gold-bearing mineralization on the Property" said Daniel Grenier, President of VVC.

The technical aspects of this news release were reviewed by Peter Dimmell, P.Geo., a director of VVC, who is a Qualified Person (QP) as defined in National Instrument 43-101.
