VXi Corporation Joins Unified Communications Interoperability Forum (UCIF)

Non-Profit Alliance of Industry Leaders Works Together to Improve Interoperability of Standards-Based UC Hardware and Software

DOVER, NH--(Marketwire - August 27, 2010) - VXi Corporation, a leading provider of best-in-class telephone headset solutions, announced today that the company has joined the Unified Communications Interoperability Forum (UCIF). The UCIF is a non-profit alliance of leading communications hardware and software vendors committed to providing standards-based, interoperable solutions for Unified Communications (UC). VXi joins dozens of companies in this effort, including founding UCIF members HP, Juniper Networks, Logitech/LifeSize Communications, Microsoft and Polycom.

VXi's headset solutions are designed for UC deployments in enterprises and contact centers where the quality, durability and flexibility of communications devices are important. As a UCIF member, VXi will contribute its expertise and ideas in order to help enterprises realize the full promise and potential of UC. Today's announcement reaffirms VXi's longstanding commitment to providing solutions and products that integrate the technologies which are most important to end users.

"VXi is proud to lend our voice to this alliance and advocate for the importance of communications interoperability," said VXi President and CEO Mike Ferguson. "The headset is a critical, but often overlooked, component of a successful UC deployment. We see great value in developing headsets that deliver not only high quality but connectivity in today's multivendor business environment, and we're pleased that many of those equipment vendors are also UCIF members."

One of the goals of UC is to ensure consistently high call quality from a wide range of devices including headsets, softphones and mobile phones. VXi has already taken steps toward that goal with its industry-leading noise-canceling microphones and a flexible product design that enables VXi headsets to work with end users' current telecommunications systems and future UC deployments.

"We're pleased to have the support of VXi as we move forward to certify UC interoperability across platforms and devices," said Bernard Aboba, UCIF chairman. "Their insight and understanding of the challenges facing enterprises in the critical 'last three feet' of communications will help ensure that the UCIF addresses the end-to-end interoperability needs of all enterprise users."
