Validus DC Systems Announces Global Service Agreement and Material Support Partnership With Siemens

Siemens and Validus Work Together to Provide Global Service for Safe, Efficient DC Power Infrastructure Solutions to Datacenters Worldwide

BROOKFIELD, CT--(Marketwire - January 28, 2008) - Validus DC Systems, a leading provider of integrated DC power infrastructure for datacenters and telecommunications facilities, today announced that it has entered into a global services and support agreement with Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. (SE&A). This agreement extends the business relationship between organizations, where SE&A is an existing strategic component supplier of circuit breakers, DC distribution switchgear and building automation & control components to Validus DC Systems for its patented direct current power distribution architecture.

SE&A offers 24 x7 support for Validus' customers in more than 296 locations in 69 countries around the world. With an experienced staff of field service professionals on call or on site, Validus customers can be assured that they will receive the highest level of support available in the industry.

This relationship further serves as validation of the modular, integrated DC power solutions that Validus will bring to market in the first quarter of 2008. Validus' offering will deliver up to 40 percent improvement in system efficiency compared to conventional alternating current (AC) power delivery systems, increase overall system reliability, facilitate integration of alternative energy sources and reduce operational costs. At the same time, Validus solutions will coexist with customers' legacy investments, offering customers an easy "on ramp" to DC power distribution. Validus' system is designed to offer the best of both worlds: the time-tested attributes of conventional mission critical power system design along with the energy efficiency of DC power, resulting in a safe, end-to-end solution that is more efficient than traditional AC systems.

SE&A has worked with Validus for four years, contributing to its fully-integrated DC power infrastructure, which enables customers to increase processing power and server density (in new and existing facilities), while reducing complexity, downtime and operational costs. By teaming with SE&A, Validus extends the reach of their solutions to global customers anywhere, anytime.

"We are dedicated to providing the highest levels of technology and service to advance high efficiency solutions for our strategic partners and their customers," said Frank Gardner, Northeast Region Sales Manager for Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. "Our collaboration with Validus DC Systems will facilitate an accelerated adoption rate for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified data centers."

"We are delighted to establish a global relationship with Siemens Energy & Automation, and recognize this relationship further validates Validus technology, which delivers the promised benefits of DC power in a scalable and modular design. Our 'Hybrid Power' open architecture technology will be available, and serviceable, to customers around the world," said Rudy Kraus, CEO, Validus DC Systems. "Working together, we will exceed our joint customer expectations for reliable, safe, DC solutions for their data center, and spark an evolution in the usage of DC power across multiple platforms as originally promoted by Thomas Edison in the late 1880s."
