Vangent Awarded NOAA Environmental Satellite Processing and Distribution Services Operations & Maintenance Subcontract

Software Engineering, CRM, and Help Desk Capabilities Will Enable System to Collect and Distribute Environmental Satellite Data Products to Forecasters, Researchers, and Citizens

ARLINGTON, VA--(Marketwire - August 23, 2010) -  Vangent, Inc., a leading global provider of information management and strategic business process solutions, announced today it was awarded a subcontract by Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) to support the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Environmental Satellite Processing and Distribution Services (ESPDS) Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contract.

The single-award cost-plus-award-fee contract has a one-year base period with four one-year option periods for a total period of performance of five years.

Under the NOAA ESPDS O&M contract, SSAI and partners will provide operations and maintenance support to NOAA's Environmental Satellite Processing Center (ESPC), which collects data from U.S. and international environmental satellites. Team members will receive and process satellite sensor data to provide the environmental information that is then distributed to forecasters, researchers and the public.
