Vantage Vue Consumer Wireless Weather Station Wins 2010 CES Innovations Award

HAYWARD, CA--(Marketwire - December 1, 2009) - Davis Instruments announced today that its new Vantage Vue consumer wireless weather station has received a 2010 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Honoree Award in the highly competitive personal electronics category. As a winner, Vantage Vue will be featured in the Innovations Design and Engineering Awards Showcase in the Grand Lobby, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, in Las Vegas, from January 7th through January 10th. Vantage Vue may also be seen at the Davis Instruments booths, South Hall #35301 and North Hall #800.

Vantage Vue features Davis' legendary reliability, accuracy and ruggedness in a station that is more affordable and easier to install than ever. The Vantage Vue weather station has two components: The sleekly designed integrated sensor suite, also known as the ISS, and the data-receiving console. The ISS collects weather data such as outdoor temperature, rainfall, rain rate, wind speed and direction, and wirelessly transmits its data to the console, which displays the data. Vantage Vue's MSRP is $395.

"We're thrilled that the years of intense effort to build the next great home weather station have been validated by winning this CES Innovations Award," said Russ Heilig, Vice President of Business Development, Davis Instruments. "Vantage Vue's primary purpose is to give its owners a sophisticated yet user-friendly weather station, and make it easier than ever to view and share their data with the world. With our rapidly expanding WeatherLink Network and our new iPhone application, our customers can now interact with their home weather from wherever they happen to be."

Vantage Vue stations work with Davis Instruments' WeatherLink® weather software. WeatherLink allows users to transfer their weather data to a PC for additional analysis and graphing. One version, WeatherLinkIP™, even creates a personal weather website for their station and connects them to a global community of Davis weather station customers at

Davis Instruments' weather stations are manufactured in the United States and backed by more than four decades of American innovation, engineering and expertise.
