Vantex Starts Exploration in Opinaca

LA PRAIRIE, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 17, 2007) - The management of Vantex Resources Ltd (TSX VENTURE:VTX) started initial exploration works on the Opi (95 cells) and Mitsumi properties (20 cells), located south of the Opinaca reservoir. These properties are located within the new Opinaca mining camp and are 100 %-owned by Vantex.

Vantex also filed by map designation, for the acquisition of 24 additional cells adjacent to the Mitsumi property. The approval of Quebec's Ministeres des Richesses Naturelles (MRNQ) is pending.

The works on Opi and Mitsumi include line cuting (180 kilometres) , a magnetic survey and an EM-16 survey. This data will outline drilling targets in the coming weeks.

The Mitsumi property is located in the south-east folded extension of the Anatacau-Pivert geological formation and is accessible year long through the reservoir Eastmain road. Some important gold deposits and gold showings are located within this formation : the lac a l'Eau Claire deposit (Eastmain Ressources- 990,000 ounces of gold- March 3, 2005 press release) as well as the important Contact, Chino and Isabelle gold showings from Arianne Resources inc.(DAR-V) and the Black Dog showing.

The management of the Company mandated Mr. Pierre O,Dowd, Qualified Person compliant to NI 43-101, to do a compilation report on the Black Dog property (23 cells), jointly owned with Arianne Rsources inc. (50/50). This property is located within the Anatacau-Pivert formation, south of the Opinaca reservoir. Previous works (GM49584) showed the potential for gold with drill holes LH88-01 and LH88-02 which returned grades of 7,9 g/t Au and 5,6 g/t Au on widths of 1.28 and 1.1 metres. These gold intersections show a very interesting gold environnement in an important mining camp like Opinaca.

The Company also plans to start in the coming days, another drilling program for 3,000 metres on the Guillet property to test gold targets mainly located south and north of the Lake Expanse showing.

These works are under the supervision of Mr. Daniel Kelly, independent consulting engineer and Qualified Person under NI 43-101.
