Velocita Wireless Extends Life of Its Wireless Mobitex Point-of-Sale Terminals for Merchants Processing Credit Card Transactions

Free, Simple Software Upgrade Ensures Customers' Updated PCI-Compliant Software for Data-in-Motion

ISELIN, NJ--(Marketwire - April 26, 2010) -  M2M wireless data network provider Velocita Wireless announced today continued support for Mobitex-enabled wireless Point of Sale (POS) terminals. Velocita Wireless has verified that with a newly available, free software upgrade, credit card transactions on the Lipman Nurit 8000 are data-in-motion compliant with PCI and DSP guidelines to be enforced in July 2010. The RIM 950 and 957 terminals Velocita supplies are already software compliant. No additional hardware investments are required for any of these terminal models, saving customers $700-2000 per terminal.

"With our renewed commitment to the Velocita Wireless network powered by Mobitex, we are pleased to have worked with our POS and secure gateway partners to provide continued high-value services to our customers," said Andrew Fitton, CEO of Velocita Wireless and Chairman of United Wireless Holdings. "Our joint effort provides customers with a zero-cost, no-hassle solution for future proofing their existing terminals. Our merchants won't have to upgrade their existing hardware to continue getting the best secure wireless service and processing."

Customers who are using the Lipman Nurit 8000 terminals on the Mobitex network can upgrade their software for PCI compliance by contacting Velocita Wireless at 1-800-MOBITEX (800-662-4839) or via email at vw.sales@velocitawireless.com for assistance in a seamless transition to a certified solution.

"We have worked with Velocita for more than five years, supporting their Point of Sale wireless credit card networks and will continue to support the devices on it for the foreseeable future," noted Bill Clark, Executive Vice President North America, Apriva POS. "This announcement of continued PCI compliance is good for our mutual customers who can avoid having to upgrade to more costly hardware -- this free software upgrade could potentially save each of our customers thousands of dollars."

Velocita Wireless continues to work with its partners to develop comprehensive Point of Sale programs to help its customers and will continue to offer strong support for the Mobitex network.
