Venture Communications Expands Into Toronto; Veteran
Marketing Executive Alison Simpson Appointed as
Managing Director

CALGARY, Alberta--(CCNMatthews - Jan 4, 2005) -

Calgary-based Venture Communications Ltd. has announced the hiring of
Alison Simpson as Managing Director. Simpson will lead Venture's move
into the Toronto market by opening Venture's new Toronto office
scheduled to begin operations in early 2005. She will also have
responsibilities for Venture's Calgary and Ottawa offices.

A seasoned executive in the Canadian marketing industry, Simpson is
leaving her post as the President of Enterprise Advertising in Toronto
-- a WPP company -- to join Venture. The majority of Simpson's career
has been spent with the top advertising agencies in Canada, where her
ability to develop more creative solutions -- that drive sales -- has
set her apart from those around her.

While at Enterprise, she was instrumental in developing top-tier
advertising campaigns for a number of clients including TELETOON,
Discovery Channel, Tim Hortons--Canada and the U.S., McCormick and the
Toronto Star. Simpson worked at BBDO (Vancouver and Toronto) and
MacLaren McCann (Toronto) before taking on the lead position at
Enterprise.

When asked what inspired her move, Simpson replied: "The team at Venture
has done a tremendous job of truly understanding the need for
accountability in marketing today. Unlike their competitors, they've
gone beyond just talking about it to making it tangible. They're smart,
passionate and we share similar views on where our industry needs to
evolve in order to stay relevant. I'm thrilled to be joining their
team."

"Many marketing companies in Canada tend to expand into the west from
Toronto," said Arlene Dickinson, president and owner, Venture
Communications. "As a company that has its roots in Alberta, we are
proud to be doing quite the opposite, in direct result of our steady
growth and our increasing customers based in the East. Alison Simpson's
vast experience in marketing will benefit Venture's continued
development in Toronto and beyond," said Dickinson.

Venture's new 5,000 square foot Toronto office will be located on the
3rd floor of 179 John Street, at the site of the former Jane Corkin
Gallery. Venture will immediately hire approximately 10 employees to
staff the new Toronto facility.
