Verdi Corrente Productions Signs Robert Englund (the Original Freddy Krueger), Along With Star Ensemble Cast for "Inkubus," a New Horror Film Currently in Production in Rhode Island

EAST GREENWICH, RI--(Marketwire - May 6, 2010) - Verdi Corrente Productions (VCP) is currently in production on "Inkubus," starring Robert Englund ("A Nightmare on Elm Street," "Freddy vs. Jason," "The Dream Child"), the original "Freddy Krueger."

Mr. Englund is enthusiastic about creating another iconic horror villain, Inkubus, a demon hell-bent on destroying the one man who almost captured him.

William Forsythe ("Halloween," "The Devil's Rejects," "The Rock," "Raising Arizona"), Joey Fatone ("My Big Fat Greek Wedding," "The Cooler," "Homie Spumoni"), Jonathan Silverman ("Weekend at Bernie's," "Brighton Beach Memoirs," "Death Becomes Her"), Mike Cerrone ("Me Myself and Irene," "Stuck on You," "Outside Providence") and Michelle Ray Smith ("Wedding Daze") will complete this exciting ensemble cast.

Chad A. Verdi and Michael Corrente ("Outside Providence," "American Buffalo," "Brooklyn Rules," "A Door in the Floor"), principals of Verdi Corrente Productions (VCP), are producing with Glenn Ciano directing.

Mr. Verdi stated, "VCP has provided all funding for the development and filming of 'Inkubus.' We have an excellent script written by Carl Dupré ('Detroit Rock City,' 'Hellraiser: Hell World') and Glenn Ciano ('Homie Spumoni') and we are excited to get started on the first installment of this budding franchise."

Corrente was pleasantly surprised at how the project came to fruition: "This film comes out of a screenwriting competition I started two years ago in Providence. To watch this project evolve into a film with this cast and story is amazing."

"Inkubus" tells the story of a skeleton crew working the final shift at a soon to be demolished police station. The night takes a gruesome turn when the demon, Inkubus (Robert Englund), calmly walks into the station holding the severed head of a murdered girl. Inkubus toys with the crew, allowing himself to be restrained, and begins to proudly confess to his litany of crimes, some dating back to the Middle Ages. Why? Inkubus has a score to settle with the one detective (William Forsythe) that almost put him away some thirteen years ago. To their dismay, the cops quickly become pawns in Inkubus' brutal crowning achievement of murder, gore, and mayhem. They ultimately realize it's his world, they only die in it.
