Vertigo Embraces Silverlight 4 Across Platforms and Devices

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - April 12, 2010) -  Vertigo today announced its full adoption of Microsoft Silverlight 4 and the recently announced Windows® Phone 7, which provide a common Microsoft development platform for delivering rich internet, rich media and line of business solutions for the Web, mobile and multi-touch environments.

With the pace of Silverlight adoption rapidly accelerating, Vertigo is squarely positioned to take advantage of this momentum with its broad spectrum of startup and Fortune 50 clients across a variety of industries. "We made a bet on Silverlight before version 1.0 was even released," said Scott Stanfield, CEO of Vertigo, "It's an investment that has really paid off for Vertigo and our clients in more ways than we ever envisioned. Coming off of our success with NBCOlympics.com, we're very excited to be diving into Silverlight 4 and Windows Phone 7."

Vertigo was one of the first development firms to develop in Windows Presentation Foundation and has been at the forefront of every innovation of Silverlight ranging from tapping the power of managed code support, to rich interactions like deep zoom, Internet Information Services (IIS) Smooth Streaming, and multi-touch. Silverlight 4 offers compelling features such as beyond-the-browser extensions, native multicast support and a full suite of enterprise development capabilities, as well as integration with Microsoft Office, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. "Silverlight enables our design team and our software engineers to collaborate in ways not previously possible," said Mike Hanley, Vice President of Services for Vertigo. "Our productivity has increased, while the value we deliver to our clients has never been higher."

"Microsoft is pleased Vertigo has invested early in supporting Silverlight and the next-generation application development platform," said Brian Goldfarb, director of the developer platform group at Microsoft Corp. "Companies like Vertigo help developers use their existing skills to create unique experiences that run across many and varied devices."
