Victoria Resource Corp.: Deep Drilling Program Begins in North Central Nevada

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - June 5, 2006) - Victoria Resource Corp. (TSX VENTURE:VIT) ("Victoria") is pleased to announce that it has commenced deep drilling programs at two of its eight properties in North Central Nevada. The program will consist of four deep diamond drill holes (two per property), using two drill rigs, one at the Hilltop property and the other at the Preble Property.

The Hilltop property consists of over 50 square miles in odd numbered sections in the Northern Shoshone Mountain Range southeast of Battle Mountain, Nevada. This program consists of two diamond core holes that will test the depths to the carbonate assemblage of rocks that lie beneath the regionally occurring Roberts Mountains Allochthon and its basal thrust, the Roberts Mountains thrust. Structural mapping has defined gold-mineralized structural systems that cut the rocks of the allochthon exposed at the surface and likely the underlying lower plate carbonate rocks. The drilling will test these gold mineralized structures at depth as well as any ponding or leakage below the Roberts Mountains thrust that may occur within Devonian to Silurian carbonates that are the most important hosts for gold within the Battle Mountain Gold Belt. Should the targets prove out, the information would facilitate structural predictions of depths to the lower plate in other parts of the Hilltop property, thereby opening up large tracts of ground to further deep drilling.

The Preble property consists of about 20 square miles in odd numbered sections north of Interstate 80 about 26 miles west of Battle Mountain. Previous mapping has shown that large zones at the intersection of the Battle Mountain and Getchell gold belts are likely present under alluvial fan material as well as basalt flows along the northern extent of the property. A two-hole core drilling program has commenced to test a major NW striking portion of the Battle Mountain Gold Belt, under cover, where it likely intersects secondary but significant structures of the N10E striking Getchell Gold Belt.

Immediately following the completion of these two programs, Victoria plans to commence drilling programs on its other properties in Nevada including; Cove-McCoy, Relief Canyon and Black Canyon. Furthermore, depending on the results from Hilltop and Preble, the Company plans to add a third rig to continue exploration drilling on these properties.
