ViewCentral 5.0 Unites Enterprise Events With the CRM Process by Emphasizing Event Packaging and Merchandising to Help Companies Increase Their Return on Events

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 1, 2005 -- ViewCentral, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise conferencing and event management solutions, today announced the availability of ViewCentral 5.0, the first on-demand solution to deliver a comprehensive set of tools for managing and measuring the effectiveness of enterprise events.

ViewCentral 5.0 automates the management of in-person, virtual live and virtual recorded marketing and training events, and is commonly used in conjunction with customer relationship management systems. The new release, complete with a re-branded look-and-feel and enhanced navigation controls, offers compelling new event packaging and merchandising features to help companies increase event attendance, improve the ratio of registrants to attendees, and generate a greater Return on Event (ROE).

Increasing registrations and attendance at marketing and training events is critical to generating a positive ROE. ViewCentral 5.0 addresses this need with new and expanded options for promoting, pricing and packaging events. For example, ViewCentral 5.0 users now have the ability to bundle multiple events together and offer a volume discount to registrants who sign up for a group of events. A related option enables registrants to register for an event but select event schedules at a later time.

Also available with ViewCentral 5.0 is the ability to display multiple prices for an event at the same time. Previously, a user could show only one price to a registrant. If a discount is being offered to a partner, for instance, the partner can now see the discounted price as well as the list price, so they know the extent of their price break. ViewCentral 5.0 can be configured for early-bird discounts, too. A user can set a price for an event of $100 until June 1, for example, and then automatically have it change to $150 on June 2. A third scenario provides registrants the ability to choose a price based on options such as whether they plan to attend alone or with a colleague.

Finally, ViewCentral 5.0 offers a new shared-seat feature that provides for improved handling of event sub-schedules. Enhanced session-management functionality enables registrants to sign-up for different parts of a particular event, when the content of the event is a better fit for their individual needs. For example, a five-day product-training course might focus on product introduction the first two days, while the remaining three are aimed at advanced users. ViewCentral 5.0 automatically manages seat resources whether the company chooses to offer the course as a single event or as multiple events.
