Viewers Choose KARE 11

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - December 4, 2009) - Preliminary results for the November 2009 ratings period indicate that KARE 11 News is the leader in viewers over all local competitors. Figures from Nielsen Media Research show that KARE 11 is the winner with every major demographic group for newscasts throughout the week.

This is the first ratings period after a major shift in prime time programming, with NBC moving the popular late night host, Jay Leno, to a prime time lead-in position. Formerly, NBC's "Tonight Show" aired after the late news.

"Our strong connection with the community remains unchanged," said John Remes, President and General Manager of KARE. "It's especially gratifying to see our audience switch channels to see us at 10p.m. Another example of viewers choosing KARE," he added.

"The entire KARE news team is honored by the continuing support of viewers in Minnesota and Wisconsin," said KARE Vice President and News Director Tom Lindner. "We're glad our work on T.V. and online serves their needs."
