Virtual Egg Sold for $69,696 USD -- "NEVERDIE" Avatar Sets Virtual World Record
LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - February 3, 2010) - Cyber Superstar Avatar Jon "NEVERDIE"
Jacobs held a public auction Sunday on his personal Asteroid, inside the
Real Cash Virtual World platform Entropia Universe and Sold a mythological
Virtual Egg for a Whopping $69,696.00 USD; setting a new World Record for
the "Most Profit" made on a single Looted Treasure in a Video game.
NEVERDIE is currently featured in the 2010 Guinness Book of World Records
"Gamer Edition" for owning Club NEVERDIE "The Most Valuable Virtual item."
NEVERDIE who has been dubbed by the media "The King of Virtual Reality"
Virtual Egg for $10,000 USD in 2006 from Romanian Gamer "Tzest0s" who
won a unique Quest... The Final Chapter in the Egg's History has yet to be
written as thousands of Gamers and virtual World
pioneers speculate what will actually hatch from the EGG and will it be
worth the extraordinary price tag.
The buyer, Australian gamer David Storey, aka Deathifier, who owns
"Treasure Island," a Tax generating Virtual World Destination, regards the
purchase as a sound investment.
NEVERDIE who is famed for blurring the line between reality and virtual
reality recorded a number of very popular gamer Anthems
including "Gamer Chick," "I am My Avatar" and "New VU Blues"; he made
worldwide headlines, when he mortgaged his home in Miami in 2005 to
purchase an Asteroid for $100,000 USD. After turning the Asteroid into a
Nightclub dubbed Club NEVERDIE, which is now valued at over $1 million USD,
he used the income from the Virtual World to build NEVERDIE Studios, the leading virtual
World Studio in Hollywood, California. NEVERDIE Studios is pioneering pop
culture in Virtual Reality producing New virtual Worlds, including ROCKtropia, the first virtual music
world, and "NEXT Island," The First Time Travel virtual World exclusively
for the Entropia Universe real cash Economy Virtual World platform.
NEVERDIE Said of the Sale, "People thought I was crazy when I bought the
Egg for $10,000 USD in 2006. Well Now they really have something to talk
about over dinner... However, even though it's a Mystery Egg, I think that
if indeed a Monster hatches from it, it will most likely be something truly
spectacular that will attract gamers from all over the world to hunt it and
it could produce a lot of Revenue for its new owner. A new monster is a
major event in an online community. A typical MMO game might build a
multimillion dollar expansion around new creatures and Storylines, in a
Virtual World that is Free 2 play. The storyline Evolves without quite the
same marketing hoopla, but the virtual Economy can see a huge surge during
events, So the Egg is truly valuable. I Actually didn't Sell the egg to
Cash out; my Club NEVERDIE Virtual record label scored a Real World hit
reaching #2 on the UK Club Charts over Christmas with a track called
'Ships in the Night' by Cheri Moon;
only Madonna kept it off the #1 spot. 'Ships in the Night' is the first
Chart hit fully funded by My Virtual Night Club and we have a new Track by
Cheri Moon called 'One More Crazy Summer' that has UK music biz insiders
buzzing, So I'm going to re-invest the Profits from the virtual Egg into a
Music Video and turn 'One More Crazy Summer' into a MONSTER Summer Dance
Anthem. If I'm successful then, ironically with a bit of Luck the
mythological Virtual Egg will End up Spawning two Different kinds of
Monsters, one virtual and One Real."
NEVERDIE's Soon to be Released ROCKtropia Music planet already features
Virtual destinations for major Artists including Motorhead front man Lemmy
Kilmister and Cash money recording Artist Kevin Rudolf, whose latest Hit
Record "I made it"
featuring Lil Wayne, Birdman and Jay Sean is Rocketing up the US Pop
