Virtual Hold Technology Raises Over $5,500 for Akron Children's Hospital

Technology Company Participates in WKDD's Annual Radiothon

AKRON, OH--(Marketwire - February 16, 2010) - The employees of Virtual Hold Technology (VHT) again opened their wallets to support WKDD radio's 11th annual "Have a Heart, Do Your Part" radiothon, benefiting Akron Children's Hospital. VHT raised $5,827, which will help fund research, patient care programs, and new child-sized equipment.

"Our employees were very eager to have the opportunity again to support the important work of the dedicated doctors and staff at Akron's Children's Hospital," said Jenni Reiserer, Director of Finance and Administration, VHT. "In spite of the struggling economy -- or maybe because of it -- our employees really banded together to help the children in our area get the medical care they need."

VHT employees raised the money through bake sales, soup kitchens, change buckets and manning the radiothon phones on Saturday. But the highlight for employees was a lunchtime trip to the Build-a-Bear store in Summit Mall where they built 30 stuffed animals that were auctioned off for the event. According to Reiserer, "Employees had a blast creating bears that ranged in theme from Hello Kitty and ice skating to football and rock music."

The WKDD "Have a Heart, Do Your Part" radiothon, which ended on Feb. 14, raised nearly $500,000 for Akron Children's Hospital.
