Viterra Names New Addition to Senior Management Team

REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Oct. 22, 2007) - Viterra (TSX:VT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Donald J. Chapman, who joins Viterra's senior management team, effective immediately, as Senior Vice President, International Grain, based in Calgary, Alberta.

Mr. Chapman comes to Viterra with an extensive, international background in the market development of grain, oilseeds and oil sectors. Since 1996, he has worked for Toepfer International - Asia Pte Ltd, based in Singapore. Mr. Chapman's responsibilities included managing all commercial activity and risk management in the Asian Region, including the development and implementation of growth strategies. His role also included global commercial responsibility for certain commodity groups.

He joined Alfred C. Toepfer International's senior management team in 1994 in Winnipeg, where he managed origination and trade into Toepfer's global marketing network. His career with Toepfer also took him to Hamburg, Germany, where in 1995-1996 he was responsible for international grain, in particular managing the global trade of corn and feed wheat.

Mr. Chapman began his career in the grain industry as a grain buyer and trader in Winnipeg in 1986. He completed a Master of Business Administration program at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, a leading business school in Sydney, Australia, with an international reputation for excellence in management education.
