Vringo Opens First U.S. Office

Names Perlman SVP/General Manager

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - June 11, 2007) - Vringo, a company developing new applications for video ringtones and mobile personalization based in Israel, is pleased to announce it will open an office in New York City, its first in the United States, at the end of June. In conjunction with this expansion, Andrew Perlman has been named Vringo Senior Vice President for Content and Community, and will serve as General Manager of Operations in the U.S.

Vringo's New York office will initially focus on strengthening partnerships with U.S. based content providers and online communities and social networks. The office will ultimately house sales and marketing personnel and account management staff to handle relationships with carriers, content owners and online communities.

Perlman was previously SVP Global Digital and Music where his responsibilities included all forms of mobile and online distribution of content, e-commerce and video games licensing and production. He was VP of Digital Media at Classic Media until its acquisition by Entertainment Rights. He worked extensively in the area of digital-rights management and created co-marketing campaigns with leading mobile carriers. He also spearheaded the company's digital anti-piracy efforts. Perlman is a graduate of the School of Business and Public Management at George Washington University.

"We're very excited to be expanding into the U.S. marketplace, where video ringtones are forecast to explode," said Jon Medved, co-founder and CEO of Vringo. "Based on the growing number of our content partnerships and the increasing availability of video-capable phones, we believe Vringo faces excellent opportunities for growth."

"There's no one better suited to position Vringo for its U.S. expansion than Andrew Perlman, with his experience in both digital-rights management and mobile marketing," added Medved. "We are pleased he agreed to captain our partnership and marketing efforts in the States."

"I'm thrilled to be chosen to lead Vringo's U.S. operations," said Perlman. "From my perspective Vringo is the killer app in mobile personalization not only as a video ringtone application, but also as a video-sharing community. I'm confident this is the right time and the right company to make Video ringtone sharing the next big thing."

The Vringo video-ringtone application is currently in private beta test mode, but once it becomes publicly available later this year, Vringo will offer the service directly to consumers and through mobile carriers. Content will include both licensed material from TV, movies, and music videos as well as user-generated clips.
