Wabash National Corporation Appoints New Chief Executive Officer

LAFAYETTE, IN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 7, 2006 -- Wabash National Corporation (NYSE: WNC) today announced that its Board of Directors has selected current President and Chief Operating Officer, Richard J. Giromini, to serve as President and Chief Executive Officer beginning January 1, 2007. He succeeds Bill Greubel, 55, who will remain with the company as an executive Director and Chairman.

Giromini, 53, joined Wabash National in 2002 as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In 2005, he was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer, and named as a member of the company's Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Wabash National, Mr. Giromini served as Senior Vice President/Technology and Continuous Improvement for Accuride Corporation. He joined Accuride as Vice President/General Manager of AKW, L.P. in April 1998, and served as President and CEO of AKW L.P. from August 1998 through April 1999. In addition, he has held several positions of increasing responsibility with ITT Automotive, Hayes Wheels International, Doehler-Jarvis Corporation, and General Motors Corporation.
