Wabash National Corporation Introduces New DuraPlate® CargoMax® Container

LAFAYETTE, IN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 14, 2005 -- Wabash National Corporation (NYSE: WNC) today announced the launch of its new DuraPlate® CargoMax® domestic container designed to provide intermodal carriers with additional interior width to optimize valuable cargo capacity.

The new container design incorporates high-performance DuraPlate composite panels in the sidewalls, nose, and doors to reduce weight and provide the strength and durability required in intermodal operations. The design also increases interior width, which allows carriers to pinwheel pallets in the cargo area and increase cargo capacity.

"We have worked closely with our customers to design and develop a domestic container to meet their growing intermodal needs and provide them with a competitive advantage in the marketplace," said Bruce Ewald, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing. "With the DuraPlate CargoMax, our customers receive the unmatched durability and performance of the proven DuraPlate dry van in an ultra-wide, lightweight domestic container design."

The DuraPlate CargoMax, which incorporates a number of standard features that help extend product lifecycles and reduce maintenance costs, is already being utilized by leading truckload carriers.

Wabash National is introducing the new container at IANA's Intermodal Expo (booth T6), Nov. 13-15, 2005, in Anaheim, Cal. More information on the DuraPlate CargoMax is available at
