Walleye Technologies' Portable Hand-Held Millimeter Wave Camera Selected as One of TIME Magazine's 50 Best Inventions of 2009

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - November 16, 2009) - Walleye™ Technologies, creator of the Walleye Imaging System that is capable of "seeing" into and through solid objects, today announced that its portable hand-held millimeter wave camera has been selected as one of TIME magazine's 50 Best Inventions of 2009. The list consists of TIME's picks for the best new gadgets and breakthrough ideas of the year.

The Walleye camera is listed as "The Handyman's X-Ray Vision." In the description of the camera, TIME points out that it weighs less than 3 lb. and will cost less than $500. It also explains that the Walleye camera is smaller and cheaper than previous microwave imaging equipment and that it emits less radiation than a cell phone. "We are extremely honored that the Walleye camera has been selected as a top invention of 2009 by TIME magazine," said Robert W. Sengstaken Jr., vice president of engineering of Walleye Technologies. "We are confident that the Walleye camera will make a big impact in a variety of markets including home repair and construction. It is exciting that such an influential publication such as TIME agrees that the Walleye camera is a breakthrough product."

The Walleye camera is based on a patent-pending technology platform that generates high-quality digital images that are readily displayed, stored, analyzed, and transmitted. Instead of visible light, the Walleye camera uses invisible wavelengths called millimeter waves to see into and through objects.

The Walleye Imaging System has applications across a variety of markets. In addition to the consumer (home repair and construction) market, the Walleye camera also has security and medical applications. Walleye Technologies' business model is to partner with leading manufacturing, marketing and sales organizations in the targeted markets. One example of a security application of the Walleye Imaging System is the ability for security personnel to scan bags, packages, and people in a non-invasive manner and without physical contact.
