Wave Wireless Announces SPEEDLink'TM' 4900 Series for 4.9 GHz Public Safety Applications-SPEEDLink'TM' 5800 Series Launched for 5.8 GHz Band

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA--(CCNMatthews - June 6, 2006) - Wave Wireless Corporation (OTCBB:WVWC), a developer of wireless broadband solutions announced today the introduction of the SPEEDLink 4900 and 5800 Series of high-powered wireless bridge/routers, the newest members of the SPEEDLink product family.

The SPEEDLink 4900 Series operates in the licensed 4.9 GHz Public Safety frequency band which is available to all state or local government entities. Featuring a 400 mW radio providing superior range and throughput, the SPEEDLink 4900 Series is available in models that support point-to-point or point-to-multipoint access. To facilitate frequency coordination initiatives among various public safety organizations and maximize deployment flexibility, the SPEEDLink 4900 Series can operate in 5 MHz, 10 MHz, and 20 MHz channels.

Public safety agencies can use the SPEEDLink 4900 Series in place of costly leased lines to support a number of services and applications including, video surveillance, Internet connectivity, backhaul redundancy and VoIP distribution. Combined with the Wave Wireless SPEEDMobile system, SPEEDLink networks can provide wireless backhaul to support mobile broadband connectivity to emergency and other public safety vehicles.

The SPEEDLink 5800 Series operates in the license-exempt 5.8 GHz frequency band providing the same features and functionality as the SPEEDLink 4900. The SPEEDLink 5800 is a robust solution designed to meet the needs of WISPs, enterprise users and other communication carriers who need broadband connectivity to support Internet access as well as video, data and voice services.

"Our experience in serving the public safety market with our SPEEDMesh and SPEEDMobile product families have provided us with valuable insight into the requirements and challenges of this market. The introduction of the SPEEDLink 4900 and 5800 series radios builds from that experience, and enables Wave Wireless to provide our customers with an important additional line of wireless broadband solutions which complement and support our SPEEDAccess, SPEEDMobile and SPEEDMesh product families," said Jim Chinnick, Vice President of Product Operations for Wave Wireless.

The advanced OFDM technology, utilized by the SPEEDLink 4900 and 5800 wireless bridges/routers, offers the NLOS characteristics needed for successful wireless deployments. With increased spectral frequency and multiple, non-overlapping channels, OFDM is much more immune to multipath problems and more resistant to potential interferers than other wireless technologies. The SPEEDLink 4900 and 5800 series models also support Quality of Service (QoS) which allows tagged voice and video traffic to take priority over general data packet transfer, providing reliable, real-time capability even under congested link conditions.

SPEEDLink 4900 and 5800 Series radios come in a fully integrated package. The network engine, digital baseband processor, radio and antenna are all combined into a single, weatherized outdoor chassis, complete with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support. The operating temperature range is -30 degrees to +60 degrees C.

Wave Wireless is currently accepting orders for both the SPEEDLink 4900 and 5800 Series with delivery beginning early July 2006.
