Web Analytics Association Announces Two Free Industry Discussions in October on New Standards Definitions

In-Person Meeting and Online Webcast to Focus on Standards and the Future of Web Analytics

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - October 11, 2007) - Following its recently published Standards Analytics Definitions, the Web Analytics Association (WAA) is hosting two free public events in October: a live panel discussion at the WAA semi-annual Industry Information Meeting, October 14th in Washington, DC, as well as a free webcast as part of its fall educational series. The webcast, "Setting Standards and Making Sense of Web Analytics: Defining Metrics, Measures and KPIs," takes place on Friday, October 26, at 12:00 p.m. EDT. Discussions will expand upon industry efforts to provide consistent terms to promote better understanding of web analytics and the key metrics definitions.

In the webcast, a panel of experts, all of whom were instrumental in publishing this landmark definitions document, will discuss the new WAA standards and definitions and the importance of understanding these metrics. Professionals of all levels will learn how inconsistencies in reporting can hinder interpretations and consumer outcomes. Analytics gurus Jason Burby, chief analytics and optimization officer for ZAAZ as well as co-chair of the WAA Standards Committee, Avinash Kaushik, author of "Web Analytics: An Hour a Day" and Director of Standards for the WAA, and Angela Brown, Web Analytics Manager with Elsevier and co-chair of the WAA Standards Committee, will discuss how education and a common language are critical to reaping the rewards that web analytics can offer.

Moving beyond implementation within the analytical community to build a stronger foundation for growth, experts will offer insight into the future of evolved standards, metrics and where the web analytic industry is headed. The webcast is open to the public. Interested parties can register online:

The WAA Information Meeting and Standards panel discussion is being held October 14th in Washington D.C., at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, the day before the eMetrics Marketing Optimization Summit.
