Wedding Flowers Available Online From Flowers Direct

MORECOMBE, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Aug. 11, 2009) - The way we get married in the UK is changing according to Flowers Direct. Out of 250,000 weddings every year in the nation, two thirds of these are no longer traditional church ceremonies, and almost half of those are second marriages, where the budget is often more modest than the big splash of a first-time wedding.

This change in trends has lead Flowers Direct to create a new Wedding Flowers Collection in partnership with Confetti, the largest UK wedding shop online. "Over the past year our Customer Service department has seen a surge in enquiries asking us why it is that we don't offer wedding flowers," explains Marketing Director, Michael Duffy. "Changes in the way people are getting married, together with the effects of the recession, have combined to create a demand for cost-effective, hassle-free wedding flowers available online."

The company believes it's tapping into a much-ignored niche market. In the USA online wedding flowers have taken off in a big way in recent years. In the UK, when it comes to searching for flowers on online, 'Wedding flowers' is the second most popular search term behind 'flowers'.

"We'd be daft not to respond to this opportunity, serving customers who aren't necessarily having a blow-the-budget wedding, but who want something simpler and more economical," says Duffy.

The company, based in North West England, personally delivers wedding flowers from their 800 strong UK network of local florists. And despite the affordable pricing they claim that their wedding flowers are some of the best available today. As Duffy explains.

"With over 10 years experience and 1 million satisfied customers it's safe to say we know a thing or two about flowers. We also know that every bride deserves the very best on their big day."
