Westcon Group Announces Opening of New Warehouse Facility in Montreal

New Facility Will Serve as Warehousing and Logistics Hub for Westcon Group's Canadian Operations and Provide Advanced Integration Capabilities

MONTREAL--(Marketwire - December 2, 2009) - Westcon Group, Inc., the leading specialty distributor in networking, convergence, security and mobility, announced the opening of its new warehouse facility in Dorval, Quebec. The facility, located just outside Montreal, represents a significant investment into the company's Canadian operations and will serve as its primary Canadian warehousing and logistics hub.

The facility is significantly larger than Westcon Canada's previous warehouse facility, which was also located in Quebec. Westcon Group moved into the new space to accommodate the increasing volume and breadth of products it carries, which includes networking communications equipment from leading manufacturers like Cisco, Avaya, Nortel, Juniper, Polycom and CheckPoint.

Anthony Daley, executive vice president, The Americas, Westcon Group, commented: "We have seen continued growth in our Canadian operations despite a difficult and uncooperative economic climate. Our new Canadian warehouse -- which we are proud to say will remain in Quebec -- will be instrumental in helping us achieve the solid growth we expect over the next five years."

Westcon Canada represents a significant portion of Westcon Group's North American business and has experienced solid, year over year growth during the last three years. Last year, the Company began distributing Juniper, Cisco and Avaya and last summer, it launched the Comstor brand to its Cisco-oriented customers.

Lynn Smurthwaite-Murphy, vice president and general manager of Westcon Canada, commented: "Our new warehouse in Montreal is a milestone for Westcon, our vendors and our customers. Most importantly, it provides us with greater scale to meet the requirements of our customers, which will be manifested in greater product availability and reduced ship times. It also gives us the capacity to handle more sophisticated integration and assembly activities for vendors and customers, such as full-lifecycle services and reverse logistics offerings."

Richard DaCosta, president of Ottawa-headquartered Combat Networks, added: "Westcon's investment in Montreal is very good news for our business and it gives me confidence that I will continue to be able to access market leading network solutions. Westcon Group is the only Canadian distributor where I can source best of breed convergence and security products."
