Whistler Olympic and Paralympic Park Opens Today : A Venue for the 2010 Games and a Legacy for Years to Come

WHISTLER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 22, 2008) - On behalf of the Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of State (Sport), John Weston, Member of Parliament (West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky Country), jointly cut the ribbon for Whistler Olympic and Paralympic Park with Host First Nations and Provincial representatives. The Park is an important competition venue for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Whistler Olympic and Paralympic Park will leave a community and sport legacy in the Whistler region for years to come and promote active living as part of a healthy lifestyle. During the Olympics, it will host cross-country skiing, biathlon, and ski jumping events.
